Introduction

General Remarks

This program offers in-depth knowledge of the region’s diverse cultures, languages, and challenges, with opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research and analysis. The program is housed under the Department of Political Sciences and International Relations in the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences. It is a full-time program with instruction in English.

The program aims at the interdisciplinary formation of students in Balkan studies and their specialization in this field. Through core theoretical disciplines in politics, economy, diplomacy, culture, linguistics, and more, the program prepares students to become experts on Balkan issues, regional collaborations, politics, economic relations, and international relations, particularly with the European Union.

This program seeks to consolidate and expand the knowledge acquired during bachelor studies in fields such as politics, economy, diplomacy, culture, architecture, language, etc., and to enable the application of this knowledge by connecting it with other areas of Balkan regions.

Graduates of this program obtain interdisciplinary knowledge in fields influenced by historical, political, economic, diplomatic, cultural, architectural, and linguistic relations. They are prepared to find job opportunities in both the public and private sectors.
