The objective of the major is to stimulate students intellectually; to immerse them in worlds of learning; and to graduate them as citizens with strong written and oral communications skills, the capacity to research, criticize and reflect, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Upon successful completion of the Economics program of studies the students will be able to:
• Demonstrate abstraction capacities to balance the simplification models against the relevance in problem-solving
• To demonstrate the ability to work from assumptions and to make logical arguments
• Identify and recognize relationships between different economic variables and to present them in the aggregate model
• Show an understanding of the global issues
• Integrate the knowledge’s acquired in other sciences like mathematics, statistics finance, computing, management, econometrics etc. to create a better perspective for the economic forecasting
• Pursue postgraduate studies in advance directions of Applied Economics.
